Prepare the source image
Crop to the text, straighten the image, and reduce shadows. Small text, handwriting, and complicated tables are harder to recognize.

Verify important characters
Compare zero with the letter O, one with lowercase l, and every digit in an account or address against the original. OCR produces a draft, not certified transcription.
